Gore Ski Mountain – 344 acres and 3 peaks to ski! 2,100′ vertical, 11 lifts, 85 trails including 12 glades and 3,583′ at the summit. Gore Mountain wasn’t listed this year as one of New York’s Natural Wonders, but it sure feels wonderful skiing down these slopes! One of this writer’s personal favorite ski spots, and I’ve skied many mountains out west. Yet come for yourself and check it out! It is a must. The downtown Village of North Creek is charming too, and worth a side trip. Johnsburg (originated in 1805) consist of the following hamlets: Bakers Mills, Johnsburg, North Creek, North River, Riparius and Wevertown with a population of 2,352.
